Dubai is a city of almost constant change.  At first glance there are cranes everywhere, the hotels are bustling and the roads are filled with trucks.  There are flowers and grass at interchanges where there was only dust before. The cranes have moved to different areas and they are knocking down some of the first generation hotels, but here are some new things in town and they’re not all related to construction…

Even a few short months ago, the area around the Burj was the place to be.  Jumeirah were the hotel chain. They have new rivals now. Everyone heard about Atlantis the Palm. They spent £30 million on its launch and it made the news in most countries.

Few have heard of the Address though.   It’s the name of a new hotel and a new hotel chain. The Address, the Palace and the soon to be added Address at the Dubai Mall, offer an interesting new Dubai location. In the shadow of the Burj tower and next to the Dubai Mall, you may not on the beach, but you do have wonderful gardens, pools and the ability to walk virtually anywhere. There are shops galore, similar to the Madinat and you are next to the biggest Mall in Dubai.   Behind Jumeirah Beach the mass of new apartments are nearly finished and there is “The Walk” where the cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and shops are a good place for a stroll

Behind the scenes and in the air, something else has changed in Dubai.  That feeling of walking on water has gone.  The credit crunch has hit here too and the sheik who owns 50% of all the hotels has put a number of projects “on hold”. They may even scrap plans for the Queen Mary, according to the Sunday Times.

So what does this mean for your Dubai holiday? It means we have a big range of new bargains to tell you about. Even the icons of Dubai have dropped their prices and are offering extras. There is a unique combo holiday from Jumeirah.   Spend 3 nights at the Jumeirah Beach and 2 nights at the Burj for an unbeatable £1,590 inclusive of flights and accommodation. This is the best value for money the Burj has ever been. Or go to Atlantis and stay 7 nights and pay only for 5.

Perhaps the two best value for money deals are the “Stay 3 nights at the Royal Mirage and get the 3rd night free” and the “free upgrade to a dine around plan”. What makes this deal even more attractive is the fact you can dine in seven of the restaurants (only in the Celebrities do you have to pay a supplement) while the rest give you a full menu at no supplement.

Six nights in June costs £899 including flights, transfers and hotel on the dine-around plan.  Contact Tropical Sky now for more details….
