When I stopover in Singapore there is a host of hotels to choose from - lots of 5 stars. My favourite is the Shangri La Singapore. Three things I love about it.
1) The way they greet you by name on the phone and make you feel special. They meet you and take you to check in from the taxi.
2) The carpets in the lifts Monday, Tuesday that change by day of the week. Does it happen at exactly midnight? we never found out.
3) That super breakfast buffet - it must be one of the best I have ever seen. There is a real choice of eastern and western buffets, noodles, 20 different fresh juices, lots of tropical fruit.
If you are going to stop over, you might as well go for a luxury 5 star hotel with some character rather than a square box. If you have the money, it is worth upgrading to a Horizon Club or Valley wing room. Lots of extras are included. I am doing this next time.
