Tropical Sky have just been informed that XL Airways will stop flying to the Caribbean from early November, 2008. They currently fly from London Gatwick to St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, Grenada, Tobago and St Kitts and have been an important source of well-priced seats for Tropical Sky and other operators for some time.
It was already known that the Barbados and St Lucia routes would have their last departures on November 4 but the announcement that the other routes would also stop was a bolt out of the blue and hoteliers, tourist boards and tour operators alike have all been taken by surprise.
“This will put pressure on scheduled services, particularly in Tobago and Grenada,” commented Steve Garley, Commercial Director here at Tropical Sky. “There will be a shortage of seats in the winter high season – particularly February,” he added. “If you want to go in high season you need to book your seats now.”
Tropical Sky have a number of great bargains to these islands which are available now but will begin to run out as remaining flight seats book up. La Source in Grenada, Coco Reef in Tobago and The Verandah in Antigua offer particularly good bargains using Virgin Atlantic, so give our dedicated reservations team a call for the best holiday deals to the Caribbean.
